2010/2011 FCPMG Flu Vaccine

Influenza ("flu") is a contagious respiratory illness which can cause serious illness, sometimes even leading to death. The best way to prevent the "flu" is by getting the flu vaccine every year. This year's seasonal flu vaccine will vaccinate against the 2009 H1N1 virus, in addition to 2 other influenza viruses.

Starting on September 15, 2010 we will give flu vaccines to any high-risk patients. High-risk patients are:

Children from 6 months to 3 years of age
Siblings of babies under 6 months old
Patients with asthma, cardiac disease, and diabetes mellitus

Starting on September 15, 2010, we will also give flumist to any child over 2 years of age who is eligible for it. Click here to see if you are eligible for the flumist:

If you would like to receive the flumist, please fill out this questionnaire and bring it to your appointment.

We will not be vaccinating parents of patients. Flu shots for parents should be available from their doctors or at numerous pharmacies in the community.

Starting on October 18, we will give flu vaccine to all patients (including non-high-risk patients).

Appointments will be scheduled only for doses on hand and for appointments within 3 days of the phone call.
